RE-UNION: THE BETTER TOMORROW

A SPEECH DELIVERED BY SEYI OGUNDEJI ON 26TH DECEMBER, 2012              AT 2007 ANCO OLD STUDENTS MEETING @ ANGLICAN COMMERCIAL GRAMMAR SCHOOL HALL OSOGBO

It’s a great privilege to be here once again among the living soul. It is no more a news or a story that we are the product of our self or we are whom we are. An adage that says “20 children can never play for 20 years” became a reality when we are no more in the same unit neither department again. The journey is so far that no one can tell what the future holds for us if we keep our plan in a Godly and not in a worldly way.
To the glory of God, the second RE-UNION of the Ex- ANCOS which kicked off last year was once here again, I am dumb founded when I began to hear information about our last meeting and how people are more interesting to be here once again after leaving their lovely Alma Mata for good. Once again I am glad seeing everyone here in this gathering because it’s like a Christmas that comes once in a blue moon and this marked the opportunity to bring ideas and find help to those who are in need of help. The success of this meeting lies in our hands and I will love all us to be a partaker so as to achieve our aims.
As we have all know that we are all born to be great. And one thing about life is not being great but we are born to serve. We have to leave the past and look forward to what the future holds for us. When we leave here we are not like these, there is increase among us both in shape and in size, we have daddy and mummy among us, we have those aiming for success and those at the brick of gaining their desire in life. Though life is not a palatable one but as for us we must be willing to strive to make life comfortable even if conditions around us give birth to trauma.
As you have all known that the future of this great "ASSOCIATION” lies upon our hands and what so ever we sow we must reap, so they said, I will urge us to let us plant something extraordinary out of ordinary things. We need to look into the needs of the school and see how we can come in to help the teeming one coming up ahead of us. Let’s rob minds together and bring talents out of the dust so that they could know that we still exist.
My fellow colleagues, I am glad hearing about the news of our retirees in this noble institution but my glad will be at the utmost if we are all there to congratulate those that have impact knowledge to us either positively or negatively. It is sadden that none or few of us were at the retirees ceremony and this should not be, our impact need to be feel even if we are not at Aso Rock we can still change the word with the word of our mouth. We can all see that there is few or no changes in the development of the school, I can sense that how we live the school is still how it is but what can we do to make an impact to show that the future ahead is bright and colourful.
One thing we are all born to do is to make an impact either positively and negatively, my lovely and highly esteem colleagues it will be my utmost joy if our gathering here is not to meet friends or cajole about the past but if it is that of brighter tomorrow of this our Alma Mata I will be glad in all.
In conclusion, we are no more in computer age any more but we are now in information age and I want you to know that: “If you are not informed you will be deformed”. Information is power, get it.

Long life my Great people of 2007 Anco Old Students,
